Technical Requirements of a project
Some of the Technical Requirements of our projects
This section will contain a breakdown of the technical components and how we envisage to maintain and upgrade the network to achieve maximum uptime, bandwidth and throughput, all to ensure that the end user has a positive experience when connected to the Wi-Fi.
Hardware overview
The below contains a breakdown of how the current hardware will be managed and the hardware types that will be utilised for the expansion of the Wi-Fi network;
Access Points.
-
Entelek will use Ruckus Wireless equipment connected to a cloud-based ruckus controller for centralised monitoring and maintenance of all existing access points and new access points
-
The Wireless equipment will cater for the following Wireless band standards IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wave 2
-
The access points will make use of the following security, WPA-PSK, WPA-TKIP, WPA2 AES, 802.11i, Dynamic PSK.
-
All Access Points will make use of dynamic channelfly that uses machine learning to automatically find the least congested channels
-
An access point will have the capability to carry 100 concurrent users
-
It will be possible to provide and manage Open access services to 3rd party clients, the access point can provision up to 31 SSID’s per access point
-
Access points have the capability to make use of smartcast QOS (Quality of Service).
-
Access points are IPv4 and IPv6 capable
-
Access points use between 7.9W - 11.86W
-
Access point will be powered by POE (Power over Ethernet) and is 802.3af/at compatible
Cabling
-
All cabling to the access points will use CAT6 cabling
-
Cable will be a solid core
-
Cable will be UV protected including foil protection and braiding to prevent any cable damage
-
Cables will be terminated utilising shielded CAT6 RJ45 connectors
Switches
-
Entelek will use Ubiquiti Tough/Edge switches for centralised monitoring, configuring and bulk firmware upgrades.
-
POE out Voltage range 22-24VDC
-
Max power consumption 60W
-
Passive POE
-
Wall mountable for ease of installation in outdoor enclosures
-
Operating temperatures -25 to 55 Degrees Celsius
-
Management Network interface is 10/100 Ethernet port
-
Data Port interfaces are 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports
-
Switches can be remotely monitored on a central dashboard that provides uptime, latency, port throughput and CPU utilisation
-
VLAN capabilities for Open Access
-
Alerts can be configured for downtime on the device itself and centralised dashboard
Cabinet
-
Cabinets will be locked with a unique key and lock
-
The cabinets will be big enough to house all relevant equipment in them
-
The cabinets will be protected from erosion
